Lawrence is a seasoned librarian and information professional with over two decades industry experience with expertise in leveraging information and communication technology to drive innovation. He has held various leadership roles in academic and special libraries, including pioneering efforts at Covenant University.
Notably, Lawrence successfully automated the Research and Knowledge Management Unit at H. Pierson Associates, streamlining operations using ICT. He has led numerous project teams, achieving milestones such as:
- Automation and library support services for Lagos Business School, ACAS-Law, Ukiri and Lijadu, and Tayo Oyetibo LP, Headwaters Legal Advisory, Smithworth Partners, The New Practice (TNP) amongst others.
- Archive setup for the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos and Wems Global Resources Limited.
Data conversion and migration for Covenant University and University of Lagos.
Implementation of DSpace Archival Software for Brisktech Limited and Bold Concepts Nigeria Limited.
Lawrence’s entrepreneurial acumen earned him a mentorship role in the Federal Government’s Youth With Innovation in Nigeria (YOUWIN) program. He holds a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from Delta State University and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Ibadan. He also has certificates in Digital Transformation, Digital Product Management, Design Thinking for Innovation and Customer-Centric IT Strategy from the University of Virginia (USA). He is a member of several professional bodies amongst which are Nigeria Library Association, Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria and Society of Nigerian Archivists. He has published several articles in print and electronic journals.
